NCC SLING partners contributed to the 7th Days of Italian Research in the World

The 7th Days of Italian Research in the World, an event launched by the Italian Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, focused on celebrating the global impact of Italian researchers, coinciding with the birthday of the revered polymath Leonardo da Vinci on 15 April.

This year’s event was held in Ljubljana on 9 and 10 April, with the collaboration of the ITA Ljubljana agency, the Italian-Slovenian Forum, the Jožef Stefan Institute and the Italian Institute for Culture in Slovenia, under the theme: “From Big Data to Artificial Intelligence: The Course Ahead”.

Over the course of the two days, a number of distinguished speakers addressed various facets of the development and application of artificial intelligence. Notable among these discussions was the presentation entitled “Vega meets Leonardo” by Jan Jona Javoršček of the Jožef Stefan Institute, which highlighted the partnership between two prominent EUROHPC JU supercomputer systems. This presentation set the stage for a dynamic panel discussion with Tomi Ilijaš, Director of Arctur, Claudio Arlandini from CINECA and Lucio Bartollusi from the University of Trieste. Moderated by Jadran Lenarčič of IJS, the panel explored the key role of artificial intelligence and its integration with research institutions in driving innovation within companies.
