CONNECT Interview with dr. Jan Jona Javoršek

In 2022, an increase in traffic of 130 Gbps was detected on one of GÉANT’s backbone trunk links between Geneva and Milan. The traffic came from the ARNES, which is connected to the GÉANT router in Ljubljana. The increase in traffic was due to the connection of the EuroHPC Vega supercomputer to the ATLAS experiment. The ATLAS experiment, which studies collisions of physical particles, involves 181 institutions from 42 countries, making it one of the largest collaborative projects in the history of science.
