Members of the LECAD laboratory co-organised the Mechanical Engineering Summer School again this year. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of UL is aware of the importance of supercomputing and with the summer workshop on high-performance computing, it introduced future science students to the possibilities offered by HPC. Under the guidance of tutors, students and primary school students learned about the use of HPC in science and technology through practical exercises on the HPCFS supercomputer and by building a small assembly based on Raspberry Pi4.
Programming skills and the use of simulation software are tools for the modern engineer to verify and design products. What used to be possible only by testing can now be done by doing real simulations. Finding the right solution is best done using HPC and the right tools to make the process fast and efficient.
