As part of the European initiative that highlights and promotes the adoption of high-performance computing (HPC) in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups across Europe, FFplus, the second Open Call for Innovation Studies was published on Wednesday, December 3.
About the FFplus Open Call for Innovation Studies
FFplus Open Call 2 – T2 addresses the needs of SMEs and Start-ups proficient in generative AI and HPC for large- to extreme-scale computing resources. The strategic objective is to facilitate and strengthen the technological development of European SMEs in the area of generative AI. The participating SMEs and Start-ups will be supported in enhancing their innovation potential by leveraging new generative AI models, such as Large Language Models (LLMs), building on their existing expertise, application domain, business model and potential for expansion.
Who can apply to the Open Call?
• SMEs and startups from Europe and Horizon Europe-eligible countries. Research organisations can be part of the consortium as supporting organisations to SMEs.
• Consortia of 1–5 partners (including one SME and 1–4 supporting partners such as SMEs or public/research institutions).
• Funding available: up to €300,000 per proposal (covering all participants).
Submission deadline: 25 February 2026 17:00 (Brussels time), or when 250 proposals have been received (whichever point in time is earlier)
