Marko Bona\u010d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>A recording of the ceremonial event and statements is available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/video.arnes.si\/watch\/d2vvspk7v7wh\" title=\"\">ARNES Video portal.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"854\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/video.arnes.si\/embed\/d2vvspk7v7wh\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"\" mozallowfullscreen=\"\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>The speeches were followed by the first <strong>panel discussion &#8220;Science as a Priority for Slovenia&#8221;<\/strong>, featuring insights from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, <strong>Dr. Robert Golob<\/strong>, the Minister for Higher Education, Science and Innovation, <strong>Dr. Igor Papi\u010d, <\/strong>the Minister for Digital Transformation, <strong>Mag. Ksenija Klampfer<\/strong>, Director of ARNES <strong>Mag. Marko Bona\u010d <\/strong>, Director of the Institute of Information Science <strong>Dr. Ale\u0161 Bo\u0161njak<\/strong>, Director of the National Institute of Chemistry <strong>Prof. Dr. Gregor Anderluh<\/strong>, and General Director of Dravske Elektrarne, <strong> Mag. Damjan Seme. <\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>second panel<\/strong> focused on the <strong>relevance and importance of unified research infrastructure<\/strong> and included <strong>researchers from Slovenian public research organizations<\/strong>: <strong>Dr. Marko Drobnjak<\/strong>, open science expert at ARNES; SLING consortium coordinator <strong>Dr. Samo Stani\u010d<\/strong> (University of Nova Gorica); <strong>Dr. Sa\u0161o D\u017eeroski<\/strong> (Jo\u017eef Stefan Institute)<strong>, <\/strong>one of the lead figures in developing the concept of the Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Factory; <strong>Dr. Andrej Filip\u010di\u010d <\/strong>(Jo\u017eef Stefan Institute), who designed the architecture of the current Vega system; <strong>Dr. Jan Jona Javor\u0161ek<\/strong>, Head of the Network Infrastructure Centre at the Jo\u017eef Stefan Institute; <strong>Dr. Jana Kolar<\/strong>, Director of the National and University Library, former Executive Director of CERIC-ERIC and former Chair of ESFRI; <strong>Dr. Darja Fi\u0161e<\/strong>r, Executive Director of CLARIN-ERIC and coordinator of DARIAH-SI; <strong>Dr. \u0160pela Vintar<\/strong>, researcher at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana;<strong> Dr. Matej Praprotnik<\/strong> (National Institute of Chemistry), Chair of the PRACE Scientific Steering Committee and Head of the EuroHPC Centre of Excellence; and <strong>Dr. Ajasja Ljubeti\u010d<\/strong>, researcher at the National Institute of Chemistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Recordings of both panel discussions are also available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/video.arnes.si\/watch\/nlzp69db5f69\" title=\"\">ARNES Video portal<\/a>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"854\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/video.arnes.si\/embed\/nlzp69db5f69\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"\" mozallowfullscreen=\"\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the key functions of the centre will be to host<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sling.si\/en\/slaif\/\" title=\"\"> <\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sling.si\/en\/slaif\/\" title=\"\">the Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Factory (SLAIF)<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 a national project selected for co-financing under the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking.
