SLING National Open Access<\/h3>\n\n

Access to and use of supercomputing capacity in open access is governed by Rules for access to and use of supercomputing capacity in open access<\/em><\/strong>. They refer to clusters of those organizations or system administrators included in the SLING consortium who want to offer part of their capacities for general, open use in a uniform and organized manner to all eligible users in Slovenia. <\/p>\n\n

Within the framework of SLING, on the basis of these rules, it is possible to obtain part of the supercomputing capacities of the following clusters:<\/p>\n\n

Beneficiaries<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Beneficiaries for capacity allocation can be individual applicants or groups<\/strong>. When the capacity is assigned to a group, the applicant must specify in the application the person who conducts the research and is responsible for the list of participants in the research who use the allocated capacities. The type and size of capacity allocated depends on the application and the importance of the project<\/strong>, so that all eligible users or groups can submit a proposal for any of the types of access foreseen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time of application, the applicant must select one of the envisaged types of access listed below, which is most appropriate for the purpose of the application. Accesses vary in terms of purpose, the amount of resources allocated and the time limit for the allocation of resources. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Test access (TD)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Test Access is designed for new users of the SLING infrastructure to learn how to use the available systems and to test the software and algorithms before preparing a major project proposal. It is also suitable for existing users who need an allocation to test new software or applications and want to prepare appropriate benchmarking, performance and scalability analyses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major Research Access (VRD)<\/h2>\n\n

It is intended as a production application, but also for developing software systems and algorithms, adapting existing software or testing the methodology of specific scientific prototypes, where the process or the amount of data requires the use of large amounts of computing resources or data warehouses.<\/p>\n\n
